Biography/History: The Office of Development and Alumni Relations, initially known as Office of Alumnae Affairs, was established in 1990 serves to work with students and alumni through communications, programming, and fundraising. The Office works closely with the Emmanuel College Alumni Association, established in 1923. The Alumni Association Board of Directors are elected by active Association members. In collaboration with the Association, the Office of Development facilitates annual elections of Board members. Board members work closely with the Office of Development to keep updated records of alumni contact information, gather and share alumni life updates, and coordinate events for students and alumni. Events include annual lectures hosted by the College, Alumni/Reunion Weekend, dinners and luncheons, alumni and student networking and career activities, and fundraising events. In addition, the Office of Development and Alumni Relations generates and retains administrative records, including material related to alumni donors and alumni directories.

Through the years, the Office has been known as the Office of Alumnae Affairs (1993), Office of Alumnae Relations (1993), Office of Development and Alumnae Relations (1994), Alumni Relations and Strategic Engagement (2019) and the Office of Alumni Relations and Advancement (2023).

Scope and Content: This collection contains event material and ephemera, photographs (primarily from Reunion/Alumni Weekend), posters, pamphlets, correspondence, and administrative records (e.g., surveys, reports, alumni updates, and directories).

Collection Arrangement: This collection is arranged into (3) series. The first series is Events, which contains three subseries on Alumni/Reunion Weekend (Subseries A), Lectures, Seminars, and Series (Subseries B), and Other Events (Subseries C). The second series is Administrative Records, containing administrative material from the Office of Development and Alumni Relations. The final series contains material related to Emmanuel Alumni Updates.
