Biography/History: Sr. Janet Eisner was appointed Acting President on November 9, 1978 and soon called for the Wenham Conference over the winter break to restore faith in the College and allow administrators, faculty and students to plan for the school’s future. Sr. Janet Eisner was officially elected the twelfth President of Emmanuel College in May 1979 and sworn into office on September 15, 1979.

Scope and Content: The collection contains correspondences pertaining to the appointment of Sr. Janet Eisner as Acting President and President of Emmanuel College. It also contains ephemera (e.g. invitations, programs, decrees of congratulations) related to and from the inauguration ceremony of Sr. Janet Eisner as the twelfth president of Emmanuel College on September 15, 1979. The collection covers the period 1978-1979. Some correspondences are undated.
