- APA PsycInfo contains indexing and abstracts for over 3 million articles. Most covered materials are from peer-reviewed publications.
- APA PsycArticles covers general psychology and specialized, basic, applied, clinical and theoretical research from 1894 to the present. The database contains more than 153,000 articles from nearly 80 journals published by the American Psychological Association and allied organizations. It includes all articles, letters to the editor, and errata from each journal.

- Systematic Review: "a comprehensive review of literature which differs from a traditional literature review in that it is conducted in a methodical (or systematic) and unbiased manner, according to a pre-specified protocol, with the aim of synthesising the retrieved information through meta-analysis, often using statistical tests" (Miller & Brewer, 2003, para. 1).
- Meta-Analysis: "a set of statistical procedures for establishing empirical generalizations by cumulating the quantitative findings of multiple primary empirical studies" (Cunha, 2008, para. 1).
