Search the Archives

The Emmanuel College Archives documents the history of the College by acquiring and preserving the official records of administrators, programs, and departments, and materials donated by faculty, staff, students, and alumni. Donations of collections of individuals and organizations are sought in areas of particular interest to the College. The College Archives collects in all formats, including paper, audio visual materials, electronic records, photographs and memorabilia. The collections are open for use to all members of the Emmanuel community, and other interested scholars and researchers. In accordance with institutional policy, and donor gift agreements, access to parts or all of some collections may be restricted. The Emmanuel College Archives Room is located on the second floor of the Cardinal Cushing Library and is open for research by appointment. The Archives are currently being digitized with the goal of preserving an accessible online record of the history of the College. The project began in March 2009, when the archival materials returned from off-site storage. The first phase of scanning yearbooks, Commencement materials, news clippings, student publications and photographing student scrapbooks and memorabilia is nearly complete. The second phase of preparing this digitized material for public access is in-progress and ongoing. The project is being directed under the auspices of the Cardinal Cushing Library, Emmanuel College. We wish to thank the Emmanuel College IT and Facilities Departments for their support and the Office of Student Financial Services for funding our student workers.
