Curbside Pick-Up Policy

What is Curbside Pick-up?

Curbside Pick-Up is a service that the Cardinal Cushing Library is offering to the Emmanuel Community while the building is temporarily closed.  This service provides access to print items that are stored in the library building.

There are two options for requesting access to the print items.  The first option is to request a book that you will pick-up at the library building.  The second option is to have a chapter of a book or printed article scanned and emailed to your Emmanuel email account.

How to Request a Book for Pick-Up:

  • Submit a request using the online request form
    • You will need to provide:
      • Your name
      • Your Emmanuel email address
      • Your Emmanuel ID#
      • The title of the book
      • The author of the book

  • Once the request has been submitted, a library staff member will process your request – please allow at least 24 hours for processing.
  • When the book is available for pick-up, you will receive an “Available for Pick-Up” email at the email address you provided on the request online form.

How to Pick-Up Your Requested Book:

  • You will receive an “Available for Pick-Up” email where you can schedule a time for pick-up.
  • When you arrive during your scheduled pick-up time, call the library’s main number 617-735-9927.

How to Renew Your Book:

  • The book’s due date will be printed on your pick-up slip.  If you need an extension, please email your request to:   woodall@emmanuel.edu

How to Return Your Book:

  • Please return all library books to the outdoor book drop – located outside the library’s entrance door.
  • Please don't be alarmed if items returned in the book drop remain on your account for a few days. We are quarantining everything for 72 hours before checking in.
